Timestamp Parsing Error

Description

I'm having a very similar problem to what is in issue 913. https://github.com/logstash/logstash/pull/913. My logstash server.log is showing errors like this.

:exception=>java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "2014-01-29T18:46:00Z" is malformed at "Z"

It seems to be stemming from the sensu logstash handler which is sending a JSON to logstash with @timestamp in this format.

"2014-01-29T18:46:00Z"

I've also opened an issue over at the sensu community...
sensu/sensu-community-plugins#453

My logstash server config is below....

input {

redis {
'data_type' => 'list'
'host' => '127.0.0.1'
'key' => 'logstash'
'message_format' => 'json_event'
'threads' => '8'
'type' => 'redis'
}
}

output {

elasticsearch_http {
'host' => '10.50.2.21'
}
}

message_format is now a deprecated setting and does not seems to have any consequences in 1.4.x.

Can you re-try with the appropriate json codec outof json, json_line or oldlogstashjson
I'm not familiar with this use case, so I cannot help you more, but for sure message_format is not doing anythin

A little more aggressive garbage-collect on jira.com, expecting follow-up activities to take place on github issues
